Veterani della scena Hammond Beat con influenze Mod\/Soul\/Funky ed Acid Jazz, i piacentini The Link Quartet sono, da qualche tempo, una consolidata realt\u00e0 in casa Spinout Nuggets, tant’\u00e8 che l’eclettica label inglese, specializzata nel recupero delle sonorit\u00e0 garage-beat dei ’60s e groove dei ’70s, ha deciso di ristampare, a distanza di soli tre anni, il 7″ The Saint-Tropez Heist<\/em> \/ Nizza Connection<\/em>, due brani strumentali dalle tipiche atmosfere poliziesco-noir, con la costa azzurra da scenario, e dalla variegata strumentazione basso\/batteria\/fuzz guitar\/mellotron\/moog\/organo\/synth arricchita dai bongos del Big Boss Man, Nasser Bouzida. Altres\u00ec il fresco d’uscita Green Puma<\/em> \/ Tropical Dandy<\/em> \u00e8 meno energico, il movie si sposta nella loro citt\u00e0 e rende omaggio ad un vecchio tecnico dell’hi-fi e a un’associazione culturale.<\/p>\n

\n7″EP – Spinout Nuggets Records – 2024<\/p>\n

Attivi dal 1991, gli intramontabili Masonics, terzetto di Medwey composto dagli ex Milkshakes Mickey, Hampshire e Bruce Brand, assieme all’ex Wildebeests, John Gibbs, esaltano il loro sound, magari non nuovissimo ma sempre concreto, nel recente EP confezionato come 7″. Le 4 tracce si concretizzano nel robusto garage-rock della title-track I Got It All<\/em>, nelle inflessioni psych di You’re Gonna Live Life Sad<\/em> che si accostano alle produzioni ’80 della Midnight, nel surf strumentale di Operation Drumbeat<\/em> e negli aromi sixties di All Alone<\/em>, perch\u00e9 no! da includere in una futura quanto improbabile Pebbles<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Terza uscita, dopo un 7″ ed un LP, per gli Strengsbrew, supergruppo compost da Keith Streng (The Fleshtones), Robert Erksson (The Hellacopters), Mans Mansson (The Maggots) e Jim Heneghan (The Solution). Due le accattivanti composizioni nel nuovo singolo: A Little Trust<\/em> \u00e8 un brano che presenta diverse affinit\u00e0 con le band del decalogo Nuggets<\/strong> come Strangeloves o Knickerbopckers, mentre il retro, Cherry Red<\/em>, riporter\u00e0 alla mente gli Electric Peace e i Leaving Trains con qualche spunto freak-out.<\/p>\n

\n7″ – Anti Fade Records \/ Drunken Sailor Records – 2024<\/p>\n

Deflagrante quintetto proveniente da Melbourne, questi The Judges confermano con il singolo Guns<\/em> quanto di buono avevano mostrato con il primo album. Il Lato A \u00e8 un (lento) garage-blues \u00e0 la I Wanna Be Your Dog<\/em> mentre (The People Want A) Show<\/em> \u00e8 un brano in classico stile Aussie-Punk ispirato dai leggendari Sonic Rendezvous Band.<\/p>\n

Ultimo episodio, in ordine di tempo, per i romagnoli Rebels Without A Cause che pu\u00f2 chiudere la serie di anticipazioni del nuovo LP previsto per il prossimo ottobre. In The Name Of Good<\/em>, pur conservando i modelli di riferimento Motorhead\/Stooges, \u00e8 un palese tributo al punk abrasivo dei Dead Kennedys e alle band dell’Alternative Tentacles.<\/p>\n
